The mission of the Business Vanguard

The mission of the “Business Vanguard” scholarship program for high school students is to identify and support the future entrepreneurs and leaders of the business world.

The program also emphasizes the value of leadership, ethical business practices, and community involvement, encouraging students to develop skills that will enable them to make a positive impact in their local communities and states.

Scholarship Requirements and Eligibility

Any students currently enrolled in either the senior year of US-based high schools (actual 2024 or expected 2025 graduation from a high school) or the 1st year of accredited US four-year, full-time colleges . Applicants must be current residents of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.

Preference given to business projects with community impact, performed by one or two students with planned majors in the areas of economics, finance, business or accounting, although other majors will be considered as well. Strong academic profile (unweighted GPA > 3.3 on 4.0 scale) is required.

Merit-only: selection is based on the project’s merits and results, student academic profile, regardless of gender, religion, nationality, ethnic background, family income and other family circumstances. Authenticity: All submitted essays will be checked for authenticity, with the help of antiplagiarism and GPTZero-type software.

Application Deadline: 5 September 2024

Scholarships Amount: $3,000 in total, to be allocated among the winners (up to the top three winning projects, depending on number of applicants and quality of submitted projects).

A project could be performed by a student or a two-member team.

Decision Process: An expert group includes independent representatives of local government officials, university staff and small business owners.

Communication: Only completed applications will be considered for scholarships. After submitting the application, no further additional information is required or will be considered. Only winners will be notified directly by e-mail by 5 October 2024, and scholarship amount will be sent directly at their chosen college by September 2025.
